Join us for the King's College London Engineering Association (KCLEA) Annual Lecture on Wednesday 27th February 2019. Our guest speaker for the evening is Professor Viganò, Vice Dean (External Relations) of the Faculty of Natural & Mathematical Sciences and Head of the Cybersecurity Group of the Department of Informatics. He will be giving a lecture on 'Cyberspace – Explainable Security' in K4U.12. A drinks reception will follow in the Council Room.

19.00 Lecture

20.00 Reception

Based on the six W’s, (Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?) , Professor Luca Viganò will discuss and argue the concept of “Explainable Security”(XSec) as it relates to its stakeholders and the many facets of modelling, privacy, trust, vulnerabilities and countermeasures. He will then set out a roadmap identifying several possible research directions for XSec.

As concrete examples, he will first discuss a new, declarative way to define and reason about privacy and then show how basic cybersecurity notions (and even some advanced ones) can be explained with the help of famous (and some perhaps less obvious) movies and other artworks.
